Christian was to become a leading light in the annual productions at Scottish Youth Theatre where he was spotted by Actor and Director Alan Rickman who was to be a strong influence in his early career. Christian was cast as ‘Alex’ in a world premiere; the play was called ‘The Winter Guest’ and was co-produced by the West Yorkshire Playhouse and the Almeida Theatre Company London.

 

At Aberdeen University, he was involved in the off fringe theatre circuit and had stints as a stage hand on an Opera festival in Tuscany. He eventually won a place at King’s College, London and RADA to read Text & Performance Studies achieving a Post-Graduate Masters Degree in 1999. He then trained at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and, graduated in 2001 with a Diploma in Acting (with Distinction).

 

Over the next few years, he has had various ventures in theatre in education touring Italy. He writes produces and acts in ‘ID Parade’, 'Refuge for the artist', 'The incapacity benefit blues band'. Christian also spent two years working around Poland, Spain and Italy where he ran workshops in TIE and taught English and Drama and has been offered work in Moscow and China.

 

Most recently Christian has worked on a documentary about Italian Partisans. He is often working abroad on international projects particularly in an educational and multi arts practitioner capacity. Communact Promotions is a community interest company “ to promote communities sharing skills” and is in the pipeline working in conjunction with the European Social Fund and other volunteer organizations.
